How to create a football wallpaper in Adobe Photoshop CS4

Hi everyone, in this tutorial i'm gonna show you how to create a football wallpaper. You need to have the basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop in order to follow this. This is a tutorial made by Ach & Gav, i've just changed it a little bit.

Texture 1:click to view
Texture 2:click to view
Clouds:click to view
PSD File to study: click to download

Step 1. Start of with an canvas of 1024x764, make an white background. Find an nice cloud stock on http://images.google.ro/ search "clouds" download it and set it on your white bg (desaturate it first, Ctrl+ Shift+U).Set it on ''Normal'' and lower the opacity of this to 30-40%. Now add your render and set it on the middle of the canvas. To create a render from a foto use the Polygonal Lasso Tool. Grab a soft brush of 60 and erase smootly with low opacity some edges of the render, this will create a good blending of the render in the background. Now duplicate the render, and move the under render a tiny bit to the right and lower the opacity to 25%.

Step 2. Now selecting the Gardient Tool(hit G) add a black and white radial gradient over the render, the white part of the gradient should cover the whole render and some more space around it. Set it on soft light 100%. Now make a new layer, go to Image > Apply Image > Click Ok. Select this
layer and go to Filter > Blur > Radial Blur and select the these options:

Amount = 50
Blur Method = Zoom
Quality = Best

Set this layer on multiply with a opacity of 75%, erase with a soft brush parts over the
render, this effect creates an nice flow to the render and give the wallpaper one main
focal point.

Step 3. Now add some couple (2 or 3)of gradients map or photofilters on very low opacity, to create
more warmer colors. After you have done this. Now add again a radial gradient over the render,
just see step 1, set it on 15% soft light. Now add a black and white gradient on multiply with
a opacity of 20%. Now also add your text under the render, simple text works the best.

Step 4. Make a new layer on top and fill it with the color - ffbb28 - , set this layer on darken
with a opacity of 25%. Make again a new layer and fill it with the color - ff8d28 - and
set it on Multiply 20%. Make again a new layer and fill it with the color - ffd428 - and set
it on multiply 22%.

Step 5. Now grab the textures you had to download, and pick texture #1, set it on top and set it on
multiply 100%.Useing the erasear tool with a small opacity erase some areas over de render. Now grab the clone tool and try to remove all the writing and cracks by cloning
the clean parts of the texture. To do that while haveing the Clone Stamp Tool selected hold Alb and click on an are that you what to clone, after that realease Alt and click where to clone.
Grab now texture#2 and set it on color dodge, duplicate it an put it where you want.

Step 6. Now we will gonna make some text effect. Firstly you must
make a new layer and go to Image >> Apply Image and press ok leaving it at its normal
settings. You will have a flattened image layer(let's call it Flatten Layer). Now hold "Ctrl" and click on the text layer, this will make a selection of the text. Now with a selection tool(Regtangle tool) move the text selection you made somewhere on the image while still haveing the Flatten layer selected. Press Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste, now move the new copyed layer on top of the text layer. I know it's a little hard to understand but if you watch the image bellow you will get it. Copy the Texture 2 layer again and put it on top of all layers in the layer palette and over the text on the screen.

You are done!
