How to create a wallpaper with your team logo in Photoshop CS4!

Hi guys, in this tutorial i will show you how to create a football wallpaper with your favorite team logo. First of i want to apologize for my english and i hope you can follow along.  It's a very simple process but final result it's very nice. As always, for this tutorial we will use Adobe Photoshop. So let's start:

Resources: Stadium Photo, Logo, France flag

This is the final result:

Step 1: Create a new 1600x1100 canvas and using Paint Bucket Tool fill the background with black. We will call this "Black Layer".

Step 2: Now download the stadium photo(all resources are provided for you at the start of the tutorial)and copy it on top of the "Black Layer". Fit it on top as you wish. Set the opacity to 7%. We will call this "Stadium Layer".
Note: How to copy a layer: open the stadium photo, double click on the layer name to unlock it, hold CTRL and left click on the little square(with the photo)next to the layer name to select it, hit CTRL+C to copy, go to the 1600x1100 file and hit CTRL+V to paste it on top of the black layer.

Step 3: Now create a new layer on top of the stadium layer. To create a new layer go top menu Layer-New-Layer or hit Shift+Ctrl+N or simply click on the "Create new layer" button in the lower right corner. We will call this "Hole Layer". Again using the Paint Bucket Tool fill it with black. Now select the Erase Tool and selecting a soft brush with a large diameter make a large hole in the middle of the layer.

Step 4:  This next step it's a little bit tricky and i hope you will follow along. Open the logo file and copy the logo on top of the "Hole layer". Re-size it to your needs by clicking CTRL+T. Now right click on the new layer "Logo Layer" and select Blending Options, select Stroke from the list and apply a white color with Size 6, leave every thing else as it is. Click Ok. Now create a new layer and move it just under the "Logo Layer" by left clicking it and drag it down. Now right click on the "Logo Layer" and click on "Merge Down". This will merge the stroke effect with the layer.

Step 5: Duplicate the "Logo Layer" by right clicking it and selecting "Duplicate Layer...". Hide the new created layer by clicking the eye next to it. Now select the visible "Logo Layer" again and go to the top menu and select Filter-Blur-Motion Blur and apply a 60 degres angle and the distance 220 pixels. Hit ok. Duplicate the layer once again. Having selected one of this two layers hit Ctrl+T, right click inside the selection square and select Flip Horizontal. Now once again we need to merge this two layers together. So selecting the top one right click on it and click on Merge Down.

Step 6: Go Filter-Blur-Radial Blur. Apply 100 amount, blur method zoom and quality Best on the layer with the Motion Blur effect.

Step 7: Open the France Flag and copy it on top of the blured logo layer. With the "France Flag Layer" selected hold Ctrl and click on the littler square next to the blured logo layer to make a selection. Now inverse this selection by hitting Ctrl+Shift+i and press DEL key on your keyboard. Set the opacity of the flag layer to 40%.

Step 8: Now click again on the eye next to the Logo layer the we turn the visibility off to turn it on again. Select the Magic Wand Tool and select the interior of the logo, the blue color. Hit Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste.

Step 9: Select the new pasted layer, right click on it and select Blending Options. Set the Fill Opacity to 0% and select the Inner Shadow from the left.

Step 10: Go to the original  logo layer, one step down, and apply a "Outer Glow" with size of 10 and "Bevel and Emboss" with default settings.

Step 11: Now for the highlights create a new layer on top of all. Hold Ctrl and Click on the litle square next to logo layer(the one with "Outer Glow" and "Bevel and Emboss" applied to it) to make a layer selection. Select the Brush tool and with a white soft brush create some highlight like in the picture bellow.

Step 12: Create a new layer, with the Elliptical Marquee Tool make a circle selection on top of the logo. right click on it and select "fill...",fill it with white. Now having selected this new created layer again hold Ctrl and left click on the square next to the logo layer(the one with "Outer Glow" and "Bevel and Emboss" applied to it) to make a layer selection. Hit Ctrl+Shift+i to inverse the selection and hit DEL on your keyboard. Make the opacity to 15%.
You're done! Congratulations.
